Accelerating the Energy Transition Through a Focus on Policy Oriented Actions, the Role of the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE)

Development of climate change strategies and initiatives in support of the outcomes of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) in Paris continues to drive today's energy and environment policy work. In this context, the International Energy Agency's (IEA) "Technology Roadmap" on Hydrogen and Fuel Cell (HFC) technologies recognized their potential. However, the integration of hydrogen in the economy and in the global energy systems needs coordinated actions between governments. The IPHE is focusing on understanding member countries' perspectives in light of the IEA Technology Roadmap and is undertaking policy oriented initiatives. Outlining the IPHE framework, goals, challenges, areas of collaboration, and engaging conference participants are the themes of this WHEC presentation.
