摘要

5083 aluminum alloy is considered one of the candidate materials for liquid hydrogen vesselsas the reasons for little hydrogen embrittlement, good corrosion resistance and light weight.However in the weld metal, poor fracture toughness value below 77K is one of the problems.To improve the fracture toughness of weld metal at low temperature, 5454 was investigated toclarify the effect of Mg content on cryogenic properties.Cryogenic properties of 5454 weld metal are superior to those of 5083 weld metal. It is consideredthat less Mg containing aluminum alloy than 5083 is suitable for cryogenic applications.
