A multivariate statistical monitoring method is confined to check the sequences followed and tested that certain variables of fermentation process, such as temperatures and reactant feed-rates, are following acceptable trajectories. A process statistical model is built based on multi-way principal component analysis (MPCA), according to large datasets in streptomycin fermentation. Statistical charts including SPE and T~2 plot provide indications of deviations from nominal batch process behavior and subsequently contribution plot can be utilized to assist in identifying the causes of abnormal cases.
