From the results of experiments, the mathematical model has been established for a light oil system using the method of systematical analysis and the general formulas concerned with the law of electrostatic charge relaxation in light oil are also established. In order to overcome the drawbacks of RC circuit, the oil system was taken as an equivalent RCL time-invariant circuit by introducing the parameter inductance L. Its mathematical model was proposed and its time domain responses were discussed so that the general rules of oil electrostatic charges relaxation were obtained. Experiment data were regressed and analyzed to verify that the model and the corresponding rules are valid.
