摘要

The virtual work principle was used to derive the differential equation for flexural vibration of straight beam, torsional vibration of cylindrical shaft and longitudinal vibration of straight bar. Contrasting with former results, it can be proved that this method is understood easily and is rigorous in mathematics. This method is effective to set up the differential equation of elastic body vibrations.
