A method for the determination of twenty-three impurity elements Cu, Fe, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Ca, Zn, Pb, La, Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Y in pure neodymium oxide by ICP-MS in combination with ICP-AES was developed, The interference and other factors which affect analytical results were discussed. The accuracy are between 0. 81 % ~ 11. 98% and the recoveries of standard addition are 96%-112. 5%. This method can meet the demand for product inspection.
