New high performance systems based on the novel benzoxazine chemistries have been developed. These new systems can be processed by the traditional processing techniques such as prepregs, RTM, VRTM etc. For composite fabrication. These Benzoxazine/epoxy systems have very unique properties. These systems will not require refrigeration storage conditions and are stable at room temperature for long periods. These systems can be cured at 350℉ resulting in Tg's greater than 200℉. Thermal mechanical performance properties are excellent. Depending upon the selected backbone chemistries these systems can provide high glass transition temperature, low water absorption, good thermal oxidation stability and high modulus. This chemistry can be modified and formulated for applications for the high performance composites, adhesives and printed wire board applications. This paper describes the chemistry, processing and performance characteristics of various systems based on this novel chemistry.
