TOWARD MEETING CHALLENGES FACED BY REINSURANCE FIRMS: AN APPLIED E-BUSINESS FRAMEWORK

Firms in the reinsurance industry are facing new market realities and challenges. As these firms attempt to chart new strategies in response to the changing marketplace, the potential of informational technology should not be overlooked. E-business web-based strategies have proven utilities which benefited many organizations in the service sector. In this context, the question is not whether e-business based strategy will work for firms in the reinsurance industry, rather the question is how to make such strategy work. Toward that end, this research offers a framework which was field tested. Executives of reinsurance firms may find the framework advocated here to be of practical strategic value.
