INTERNET USER SELF-EFFICACY AND INTERNET USER ANXIETY AND THE VOLUNTARY INTERNET USAGE

This study discusses potential antecedents to Internet usage. Such antecedents include the concepts of Internet user self-efficacy and anxiety. Several factors are posited to affect Internet user self-efficacy and anxiety. These consist of gender, computer experience/ownership, training and instruction, and ethnic background. In addition, Internet specific factors may have important effects on Internet user anxiety. The theoretical background related to the factors is discussed and several propositions are advanced.
