An increasingly large number of industry supply chains are deploying e-business to link producers, suppliers, retailers and customers in a seamless network and harness its potential to enhance revenues, reduce costs and production cycle times, increase process efficiencies and improve customer service. This paper looks at how the evolution of internet, web and related technologies has the potential of re-inventing the way companies and entire industries can be structured and operated. Opportunities abound for research in these evolving structures and networks of businesses.
