The JAS 39 Gripen Aircraft is developed bySaab, Sweden. It is a fourth generation, multirolecombat aircraft in operational service withthe Swedish Air Force since a few years. It hasa fly-by-wire Flight Control System which allowsa 6 G/s G-onset rate up to 9 G and sustained 9G performance.Parallel with the development of the Aircraft,the Swedish Defence has developed a garmentprimarily for adequate g-protection.This paper describes the ensemble, presents asummary of the research and development andreports from two years operational serviceexperiences of Positive Pressure Breathingand Full Coverage Anti-G Suit in the Swedish 9G Aircraft JAS 39 Gripen.
