摘要

The total life cycle cost of structure should be minimized, and it is necessary to evaluate the durability and fatigue life of existing structures. This paper presents a numerical study on the fatigue failure of a steel structural member, which was subjected the unexpected impact load by using damage mechanics. In order to evaluate the high cycle fatigue life, the damage model that has 2 damage variables (macro and micro damage) are assumed, and calibrate the damage evolution process from micro stress field to macro stress field. It was found that this analytical method could provide a fatigue damage process and remained life- time of a damaged steel structural member.
