The measurement of in-situ stress with cores from directional well

摘要

The acoustic emission technique is an effective method to determine in-situ stresses, which is mainly applied to vertical wells. A new method is developed to determine in-situ stresses by using coordinate system transformations and solving nonlinear equations. The method is applied successfully in Bohai oil field.
