Comparison of Performance Analysis of Synchronous Generators with Simultaneous AC and DC Stator Connections Using Multi-loop Model and Multi-loop FEM Model

In order to find out an accurate and efficient way to predict the performance of synchronous generators with simultaneous AC and DC stator connections, two different models, multi-loop model and multi-loop FEM model, are described in this paper. As comparison and verification, the calculated results by these two models are compared with those of experiments. The multi-loop FEM model is more accurate than the multi-loop model under various conditions, but it is more time-consuming.
