After 26.5 months of construction, on Dec. 10th, 1999, the hot commissioning of CSP line was successfully done in HanDan Iron and Steel Company. It set a record for the construction speed of CSP line in the world. In September 2000, the month production of thin slab caster was 105661 tons, exceeded its designing capacity (100000tons), it is the fastest speed for the CSP line in the world. The accumulated breakout rate is 0.49% until the end of 2000, also the best one in the world. This paper will give a brief introduction to the process and equipment of HanDan CSP caster, and the production in year 2000.
