Morris Dam is a 67-year old concretegravity dam located in Los AngelesCounty, California. The project’smechanical and electrical features areessentially unchanged from the day theywere installed and some components arenearing the end of their operational life.The spillway’s drum gates and the dam’slow level outlets are original equipmentand all are water-hydraulically operated.Improvements to the dam include eitherrehabilitation or replacement of the outletworks and construction of new sedimentsluicing tunnel and Control House forcentral operation of all new equipment.
