The scope of this paper is to address bath filtration issues and concerns common to all alkalinecyanide-free zinc platers. Common filtration systems and filter media will be discussed and howthese systems affect maintenance rates and performance of proprietary additives, cathode efficiency,and the overall benefits provided to the plating operation. Studies of working alkaline cyanide-freeplating baths will be used as models for this paper.
