Investigation of dynamic recrystallization in two-phase titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V

In the paper results of the investigation on the influence of the rate, degree and temperature of deformation on the character of plastic flow curves of two-phase titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V has been presented. Tensile specimens have been tested on the UTS-100 machine in the temperature range of 1173―1273 K with the strain rate ranging from 2·10~(-4) to 10~(-2)s~(-1). Character and magnitude of flow stress changes have been recorded and analysed. Metallographic examination and quantitative analysis of grain size changes have been carried out. On the basis of analysis of deformation curves and TEM observations conditions have been determined under which dynamic recrystallization takes place in the alloy studied.
