摘要

The recent popularity in the use of multimedia software and applications is creation increasing demand on the Internet to support QoS. The most concerned problems in NGI such as bandwidth and latency have solutions via DWDM, high-speed switch/routers etc. QoS seems to be the only few ones left even without having clear final standard specified so far due to its complexity and interoperability issues. The objective of this paper is trying to introduce QoS, and clarify its status and latest possible solutions such as MPLS, RSVP, DiffServ etc. for practical implementations of optical networking in NGI with better QoS features.
