Mining is a arduous and dangerous work, the traditional measures to deal with safe problems existed in mining have not already met the needs of the development of mining industry, some new measures and techniques must be adopted for safe and efficient mining of ore body. In this article, the basic principle of rock mass ultrasonic is introduced, a example of application and practice of rock mass ultrasonic technique in a gold mine is given. It provides a valuable method for the safe mining of ore body with unstable roof.
