Recently the demands of Weldable 13 percent Cr Line Pipe has been increased. There are some requirements for larger outside diameter Weldable 13 percent Cr such as 20" or 24". Considering such a requirement, NKK Corporation in Japan and Dalmine Spa in Bergamo Italy have developed together Larger Size Weldable 13 percent Cr Line Pipes. The concept is, NKK supplies mother pipe and Dalmine expands the pipe in the Expander Mill. We have manufactured some sample pipes and carried out Weldability Tests in TWI, Cambridge, UK and Corrosion Tests in CSM Rome, Italy. As a result, NKK and Dalmine have successfully manufactured 20" Seamless weldable 13 percent Cr pipes. Mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the base material and welded joints are excellent and meet the requirements for CO2 and slight sour environment.
