Material Issues for Supercritical Boilers

摘要

For about 10 years high efforts have been undertaken to minimise CO_2 emissions of coal fired power stations .The increase of pressure to supercritical conditions and higher temperatures is one possibility to improve the efficiency. The well known and since the 1960s commercially used once-through technology offers this possibility avoiding introducing a new technology with some substantial risk. Only mateiral selection and dimensioning of the pressure parts have to be adapted.
