There is a tendency in combustion device construction to empoly a multi-stage feed of the combustion air into the combustion chamber in order to better influence the storingentic ratios during the combustion process and therby meet the presently stringent legal requirements for economical and eclological combustion. The consistent continuation of such a solution would, however, lead to relatively complicated burner constructions. The purpose of the research work here presnted was therefore to provide for a constructively simple combustion device which ensures a minimization of NOx and CO emission as well as an intensification of the heat transfer between flame/exhaust gas and the wall of the combustion chamber.
