If the charge has a high degree of emission, the roolers hinder heat transfer from the hearth. On the orthe rhand, heat transfer is promoted by the rollers in the case of a reflecting charge. With the rotation speed of the roller, the heat flow increases between roller and property. An enlargement of the wall-thickness of the roller at constant size only leads to higher heat flows at small wall-thicknesses. Rollers of SiC may transfer the heat better than those of steel and Al_2O_3. The heat transfer in the area of contact was mdetermined eperimentally. The temeprature distribution in the roller and the heat transfer between the rooler and the charge ca be calucated with the model presented here. Expermplary is shown, how the upper-and under-sided furnace temperatures for a compensated heat transfer have to be adjusted.
