The challenges of the strategic policy statement of iso/tc 43 in the preparation of international standards on noise

Being itself part of an international organization, ISO, the international standards organization, and having a programme of work covering a very broad range of items including noise from e.g. aircraft, trains, ships, cars, which all ccross borders, as well as many types of machinery and equipment which are manufactured and traded internationally, Technical Committee ISO/TC 43 'Acoustics' is, from its outset, obviously based on a global concept. The Strategic Policy Statement, the SPS, of ISO/TC 43 sets out a number of elements which constitute the environment and the operation of this committee, and it gives priorities for the efforts in its contribution to the global efforts to reduce noise.
