Is this paper, we present results of numerical experiments performed as a part of a conceptual design study of a large orbit gyrotron (LOG) wit an axis-encircling electron beam formed by a novel electron gun with permanent magnet system. The results of simulations indicate the feasibility of a compact LOG with low current and low accelerating voltage operating on TE_41 mode at fourth harmonic. The rquired magnetic field is produced by NdFeB permanent magnet and additional coils for fine tuning of the field strength at the gun and cavity regions.
