In our previous paper (Zhou, 2000), we have introduced some of the numerical calculation results of particulate two-phase flow in a rotating water-turbine runner designed for Three-Gorges, including the velocity and pressure distributions of the flow domain, comparisons of trajectories of different silt sizes. The prediction of maximum silt concentrations and maximum erosion rates for different silt sizes and operating conditions, the method for selection of silt size for silt erosion model test is also involved. As a continuation of the above paper, this paper will emphasize on the silt erosion estimation fo the Three Gorges runner. The approach we used in this paper is also a two-way coupling Eulerian-Lagrangian one, in which the fluid phase is treated as a continuum and the particulate phase is treated as discrete particles.
