摘要

The Transient Hot Strip (THS) principle was first demonstrated by Gustafsson et al.. The technique has since then been modified. A plane metal foil is used both as an internal heat source and as a temperature sensor (Figure 1). A constant known current is conducted through the strip (A-A) over a short period of time in order to heat it a few centigrade while the resistance increase over a defined strip length (B-B) is measured as a function of time.
