This article quantitatively examined the protective action of unburned pulverized coal to coke with thermo-model. Resultsshowed that reactivity of unburned pulverized coal is superior to that of coke and the proper amount of unburned pulverized coal is of chemical and physical protective action to the strength of coke in blask furnace. In the experiment, solution loss of coke with the existence of unburned pulverized coal decreased 33.0
