摘要

This paper provides a summary of the methodology and the results of a Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) work for a severe seismic event that was performed in support the Design Certification of the ABB Combustion Engineering System 80+~(TM) Standard Plant Design. The adopted mehtod uses a technique called PSA-Based Seismic Margin Assessment (PSA-SMA). The PSA-SMA was performed to assess the ability of the System 80+standard design in response to a seismic event beyond the Design Basis Earthquake (DBE). The design-basis earthquake for System 80+ is defined as an earthquake having a 0.3g Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA). The seismic margin assessment was conducted with respect to a Review Level Earthquake (RLE) having a Peak Ground Acceleration of 0.6g. The resistance of the design to severe earthquakes was then demonstrated to be greater than the RLE.
