On The Design of Shore-Parallel Breakwaters

摘要

The morphological aspects of the design of shore-parallel breakwaters are investigated through a series of tests using a two-dimensional (in the horizontal plane) morphological modelling system. The analysis focuses on the optimisation of the breakewater length and its distance to shre in order to achieve the desired type of response. The resutls obtaiend are compared to empirical formulas from the literature and observations from the field.
