The fruits of Tribulus terrestris L (Zygophyllaceae) were used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of edema, abdominal distention, emission and morbid leucorrhea as well as vitiligo.ln Indian, it was also used as medicine against impotency and cardiovascular disease. Tribustane" and "Vitanone " have been developed for impotency, and "Tribusaponins" and "Xin-nao-shu-tong" for cardiovascular dtseases.
