Numerical Studies in the Flat Plate Solar Air Heaters

摘要

Theoretical investigations have been made in the performance of a flat-plate solar air heater. It consisted of a blackened metallic collector plate and a transparent glass cover plate. Air is heated up while passing through the gap between the two plates. A non-dimensionalized mathematical model was written using the principle of conservation of energy and assuming a forced, fully developed laminar flow. The equation system was solved by explicit finite difference scheme. The effects of significant system and climate parameters were studied numerically. The findings of the present investigations have been presented in the form of graphs.
