Microwave is widely used in sintering ceramics. When ceramics materials are exposed to microwave, heat is generated internally within the material. However, it is fairly limited study in microwave sintering metals up to now. In this study, microwave heating and a conventional radiatnt furnace were employed to sinter FC-0208 (Fe-2Cu-0.8C) and FN-0208 (Fe-2Ni-0.8C) iron steels. The samples were compacted to the transverse rupture bars with two different pressures. In addition, the samples were sintered with different temperatures to investigated the effect of temperature. The sintered samples were evaluated for the mechnaical properties, carbon contept, dimensional control, and microsturcture.
