A model for sand screen running on marnock: a horizontal, near-HPHT well development

The marnock field, situated in the Central North Sea, is the first development in the North Sea to combine the challenges of near HPHT conditions (9100 psi and 310 F) with a horizontal sand screen completion. Once completed, the wells have proved to be highly productive with production rates up to 120mmscf/day. However, well completion, and especially installation of sand screens, has proved problematic with two out of the four wells completed with screens off-bottom
