Transport properties of polystyrene to organic blowing agents were studied by applying the sorption method to both submicron-thickness cell walls and standard blown films. In addition to the benefit of having greatly shortened test times, the use of cell walls revealed that blowing agents diffused more slowly and dissolved less in the cell walls than in the much thicker films. The diffusion and solubility coefficients of blowing agents were found to be pressure-dependent.
