Wireless installations for school internet access

摘要

Schools (K-12) have een asked under the Federal Government's Goals 2000 program to provide Internet access to all students by the year 2000.It is a worthy goal but funding so far has been inadequate.We have used a cost effective approach to help schools stretch their budgets.We have designed computer networks to connect entire school districts using wireless technology that provides high bandwidth with very low recurring costs.In this paper.we demonstrate the success of three wireless installations and analyze their cost effectiveness relative to leased-line networks.
