Use of superconducting magnetic energy storages (SMES) is very vital now, because of the high density of stored energy (up to 10~8J/m~3), the unlimited time of storing and the high efficiency of energy output. Agreat experience was gained by specialists and engineers of TRINITI in the development and construction of SMES for using the facility power supply systems for energy accumulation and as pulsed power amplifiers.
