In this study the vibration analysis program using modified transfer matrix method is developed in order to calculate the vibration characteristics of various types of multi-rotor system. A multi-rotor system is modeled as a couple of block elements according to the connection structure of each rotor. A block element is divided into several beam elements and the relation of status vectors of each side of block elements is obtained as field and point transfer matrices of each beam element are multiplied alternately. The relation of status vectors of each side of a block element is transformed into the relation between forces and deflections of each side in order to compose a system matrix. Forced response analysis is accomplished in case of a superconducting generator which is composed by several cylindrical shafts as an example.
