Recent test results and status of the HADES detector at GSI

The High Acceptance Di- Electron Spectrometer (HADES) is a detector system currently being built at GSI (Darmstadt) by a collaboration of about 110 physicists from 19 institutions~1. when completed, HADES will be used to measure the production of lepton pairs in pion, proton, and heavy ion induced reactions at SIS energies.
