Non-linear seismic torsional behaviour of buildings:A proposal for Iranian seismic building code-1988

摘要

In order to evaluated the torsional provisions of the Iranian seismic building code thisstudy is carried out. In the first step, the design eccentricity of some important seismic buildingcodes are compared with the design eccentricity given by the Iranian seismic building code. Then,the design eccentricity is obtained by inelastic dynamic analysis of an idealized building model.Further, by considering simplicity and contribution of important structural parameters an expressionof design eccentricity is proposed for the Iranian seismic building code.
