The paper presents new results of pressure fluctuations analysis within the impeller and the inlet pipe of a centrifugal pump. Tests have been made in air, on a test rig where interactions between rotating and stationary parts have been reduced to a minimum. The influence of recirculation development at impeller inlet appears well on the analyzed spectra as well in the impeller as in the inlet pipe. The hydroacoustical modes of the whole installation are clearly identified in the inlet pipe and also influence the pressure field within the impeller, especially in the partial flow range.
