The Determination of Volume Expansive Properties in Swelling Clay

摘要

In this paper, the design and method of triaxial swelling test for compacted swelling clay is put forward, in an attempt to provide realistic volumetric swelling parameters and the quantity of water absorption. Based on the tests, it is proved that the swelling strain is caused by the variation of the volumetric stress, and the result that the saturation of water absorption of compacted swelling clay is the function of the volumetric stress is obtained.
