Crossing the divide, national strategy and local practice? MSW policy implementation by local government in the UK

摘要

Relatively little work has been carried out on the ways in which local government are responding to the new waste management agenda being set by EU and UK legislators. This research investigates the adoption of national UK MSW policy at the local level, where it appears that local administration is inadequate to manage the policies proposed, identify and collect the relevant data and ensure the implementation of strategies. There are clearly severe implementation problems that need to be addressed by all tiers of Government in the UK.
