(111) texture formation of ultra low carbon IF steel is strongly influenced by the lubricant condition during hotrolling in the ferrite region. This paper will focus on the texture evolution of ferrite rolled hot band and the subsequent cold rolling and recrystallisation annealing treatment, by using the new technique, EBSD (Electron Back Scattering Diffraction pattern). (1) In the uniformly deformed part without addition shear deformation, evolution of alpha-fiber by cold rolling is relatively weak, The main component is near (111)<112>. (2) The recrystallized nucleus has the orientation enar deformed subgrains. (3) <111>//ND oreitnation develops significantly through the progress of the grain growth stage after finishing recerystallization. Without lubricant condition, on the other hand, (111) texture is not significantly evolved compared to the lubricated condition. As a results, an ultra-high r-value steel, which can be successfully produced by the world's first endless rolling equipment in Chiba No.3 hot strip mill, will be also developed.
