The authors developed a precise quantitative analysis of precipitates in Ti-bearing Interstitial-Free (IF) steel to evaluate precipitates including TiC. The new method is based upon a combination of an Field-Emis-sion Transmission Electron Microscope (FE-TEM) analysis and an analysis based on chemical extraction and isolation. Non-stoichiometry of each precipitate is taken into account. The sulfur content as copper sulfide (Cu-S) is also taken into consideration.
