In this paper Linear Parameter Varying, gain-scheduled and robust approaches for a controller synthesis are considered in an application for a highly gyroscopic system. A transient during a rotor start up and a steady state disturbance attenuation are evaluated. Based on these measurements a comparison of different control approaches is done.
