Safety case production

摘要

This paper outlines a research project being carried out by a consortium consisting of the University of Birmingham, Railtrack Plc., Transportation Consultants International Limited, W.S. Atkins Rail Ltd., and Praxis Critical Systems Ltd. The project is sponsored by the UK LINK Inland Surface Transport Programme. Its primary objective is to progress automation of the production of safety cases for the railway industry. This paper introduces the project programme, discusses difficulties encountered in the current processes of safety case production, and reports our efforts in the development of a computer-aided tool.
