Caogu 1 block of Le'an oil field is a typical fractured limestone heavy oil reservoir. Reservoir depth is from 660-900m. The reservoir lithology mainly consist of gray cryptocrystalline limestone and dolomite. The major reservoir pore space has fractures and solution void. However, the matrix of limestone does not contain any oil, and the permeability of fracture is large. After the geological properties of Caogu 1 block has been fully studied, the geological model and numerical model of thermal recovery are established. This is suitable for fractured limestone heavy oil reservoir characterization.
