Providing user support while at the International Groundwater Modeling Center, as well as professional training with government agencies and consulting forms has given me a unique perspective on modeling education issues. This paper will summarize typical problems encountered as professionals learn to use MODFLOW. Examples of both general and specific problems will be described.
